The file you just downloaded is a 1024 × 1024 PNG, which is exactly what Paint Shop expects. There are two ways to move it across and both work equally well. The app route is more convenient; the USB route works even when the car is offline.

The distinction that matters

A Paint Shop wrap is not a vinyl wrap

Search for a Tesla wrap and most of what comes back is vinyl: a physical job at a shop, a few thousand dollars, a week without the car. That is a different thing entirely from what this page makes.

A Paint Shop wrap is digital. It changes how your car is rendered on the centre screen and in the phone app, and nothing else. The real paint is untouched, nothing is applied to the body, and a stranger walking past the car sees the colour it left the factory in. What actually makes a cool Tesla wrap

The wraps that look best on the centre screen are not the busiest ones. The render is small, it sits at an angle, and fine detail turns to mush. A few things that hold up:

Commit to one gradient across the whole body and leave the panels alone. The ten presets here run edge to edge across every panel, so the car reads as a single object rather than a patchwork. This is the fastest route to something that looks deliberate.

Use one panel as the accent, not five. A single photo on the hood, or a word on one door, against a flat body colour. Contrast does the work.

Big shapes beat fine detail. A photo of a sunset reads instantly. A photo of a crowd reads as noise. If you are unsure, zoom in until one element fills the panel.

Mirror the sides. A design that only exists on the left door looks like a mistake in the app render. The mirror button copies a panel to its opposite number in one click.

The numbers

Why 1024 × 1024, and why under 1 MB

Both are limits Tesla enforces, not suggestions. A file at any other dimension simply will not appear in the list, and anything over a megabyte is rejected. This tool measures the weight live and shows you the state before you download, so you do not discover the problem standing next to the car.

If the indicator says you are over, the two things that help most are zooming out on any photos you added, or using fewer photos and more flat colour. Detailed photographs weigh far more than smooth fields.

One more thing worth knowing about the weight: the exporter snaps the colour channels before writing the file. That sounds technical, but the result is simple. A file that would have been around a megabyte comes out near 100 KB with no difference the eye can catch.
